Yes. Whole saffron threads are set into the wax by hand in every tin. As the candle melts you can see them suspended in the pool. Until our own harvest is ready, the threads are carefully sourced. When our Georgia saffron comes in, it goes into the tins, and we'll say so plainly when that happens.

Saffron opens dry and faintly honeyed. Sparkling wine lifts over the top with citrus peel, white flowers and a trace of toast. A soft musk underneath keeps it from turning sweet.

The 50ml is a small pour for a bathroom or desk, or for trying the scent. The 4.5oz is the everyday size. The 8oz is the long burn for a living room or bedroom.

No. The saffron in our candles is for fragrance and appearance only. If you want saffron to cook with, see our first-harvest preorder below.

We expect to ship by 31 March 2027. The crop is growing now, with harvest expected in late 2026, followed by curing, lab testing and packing over the winter. If we can't ship by that date, we'll contact you with a new date, and you can cancel for a full refund.

Yes. You can cancel any time before we ship, for any reason, for a full refund. Email thesaffronfactoryatl@gmail.com with your order number.

Roughly 40 to 50 whole threads. That's enough for two or three dishes, or one very good paella. A little saffron goes a long way.

Every batch goes to the University of Georgia for independent analysis, and we publish the results free on our lab results page. The soil analysis behind our first crop is already up. The analysis of the threads themselves will be published before the first harvest ships.

In-stock orders ship within 3 to 5 business days. Preorders ship on the date shown on the product. If an order contains both, we'll tell you how it will ship.

Shipping is calculated at checkout from your address and the weight of your order, so you'll see the exact cost before you pay.

Email us within 7 days of delivery with your order number and a photo. We'll send a replacement or a full refund, and you won't need to send anything back. Full details are in our refund policy.

Unburned candles in original packaging can be returned within 30 days of delivery. Once a candle has been lit, we can't take it back. Opened food products, including saffron, can't be returned for food-safety reasons.
